Leopoldine Konstantin was an Austrian actress born on December 15th, 1903 in Brünn, Austria-Hungary (now Brno, Czech Republic) as Leopoldine Konstantia-Kubat. She made her stage debut in Vienna in 1920 and gained fame in the German-speaking theater world. In 1925, Konstantin made her first film appearance in the silent film "Lady Windermere's Fan." She worked with director Josef von Sternberg and played femme fatales in his films "The Devil is a Woman" (1935) and "Shanghai Gesture" (1941). Konstantin also acted in several Hollywood productions including "The Seventh Veil" (1945) and "The Paradine Case" (1947). She was known for her distinctive voice and facial features, and her acting career spanned over five decades until her death on December 12, 1989, in Klosterneuburg, Austria.
